Every path through this practice is a little different. Below is what each service costs, what's included, and where package pricing can ease the way.
Individual Therapy
Ongoing one-on-one sessions — the foundation of most of the work we do together. Packages are simply a way to commit to the process at a gentler rate.
EMDR Intensives
A focused, accelerated format for people who'd rather not stretch the work across months of weekly sessions. Priced by the block of time, rather than the standard session.
Ketamine-Assisted EMDR
For clients combining EMDR with ketamine support. Built from individual session types so your plan can be shaped around what you actually need — we'll map it out together at intake.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
New to KAP? Here's how it's structured. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy isn't a single appointment — it unfolds in phases. You begin with a psychological intake, move through preparation sessions that build trust and readiness, then alternate KAP medicine sessions with integration sessions that help the experience take root.
Because every plan is individualized, your total depends on how many sessions we estimate together at intake. The à la carte prices are below; the two packages bundle the full arc at a reduced rate.

Prescriptions for ketamine
As a psychologist, I don't prescribe medication. I refer clients to trusted medical providers who run their own evaluations and prescribe when appropriate. These providers charge separate fees — some accept insurance, some are private pay. I'm happy to help you explore options that fit your needs and budget.

Sliding Scale
A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients experiencing financial hardship. These rates are set based on income and individual circumstances. Please feel free to inquire if cost is a barrier to care — it's a conversation worth having.
Insurance
Dr. Montalvo is no longer in network with insurance plans and currently practices as an out-of-network provider. A superbill can be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits.

A note on ketamine services & insurance. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy dosing sessions and Ketamine-Assisted EMDR are self-pay and are not covered by insurance. Integration therapy without dosing may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.
Common Questions
How much does therapy cost with Dr. Montalvo?
Individual therapy sessions are $250 for a 50-minute session, with 5- and 10-session packages available at a reduced per-session rate. EMDR intensives and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy are priced separately — see the full breakdown above.
Do you take insurance?
Dr. Montalvo is an out-of-network provider and is no longer in network with insurance plans. A superbill can be provided for you to submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. You can estimate your coverage with the out-of-network benefits calculator linked above.
Is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy covered by insurance?
KAP dosing sessions and Ketamine-Assisted EMDR are self-pay and not covered by insurance. Integration therapy without dosing may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.
What if I can't afford the standard rate?

How many KAP sessions will I need?
It depends on your individual plan, which is estimated together at intake. Many clients commit to at least 3 KAP sessions, as the medicine tends to have a cumulative effect. Package pricing is available for 4- and 6-session arcs.
